I joined Women on the Run in 2012  because I enjoyed running but was struggling to see an improvement in my fitness. I’ve always enjoyed sport but have usually preferred competitive team sports. This is what I love about running with a group. You get the benefits of support when you’re struggling to run up a hill and you get to meet fantastic women that make you feel part of a team. Once I joined, The London Olympics inspired me to train for a half marathon and now have a few under my belt! I am very proud of this and the group provided me with lots of tips and techniques as many of the ladies have experienced with training for races.

I am surprised how much WotR has changed my life. I am now addicted to fitness especially running.  I have lost weight and become much healthier. In the past, I went from the latest fitness crazy to the next one. Trust me I have tried them all! WotR becomes an easy habit with lots of health benefits! There is a group for everyone and I am always encouraging friends and colleagues to join.
It’s always great to have new faces!
