I started running around a football pitch  in 1978 with like-minded friends when I first started my nursing career. My running then went on hold until I moved to Exeter and I started running with a girlfriend around Belmont Park. I joined a ladies running group to train for the Great West Run and soon my running picked up properly again. I really enjoyed the friendship gained from group running. I went on to do quite a number of on and off road races and also helped a couple of friends to train at the same time. I had developed a zest for running and helping others to run.

I joined Women on the Run to continue the group running and obtained my Leadership in Running Fitness. I now help to run the Thursday evening Beginners group. With Heather, I love bringing along the Beginners at their own pace and seeing them move on to the improvers and into other groups. I love being a part of a ladies only running group that encourages fitness and companionship in a safe and happy environment.
