Rhiannon

After moving to Honiton in December 2019, I joined WOTR in January 2020 and the rest, as they say, is history...

My running life started back in 2017 when I took on a 'Wolf Run' with my flatmate, otherwise known as a 'Wild Run' - trails, obstacles, a lake swim and 10k to cover. At the time, this was an epic distance and a real challenge for me, but I started training and I got the bug.
A few weeks into my 10k training I realised that I quite liked this running malarkey and signed up for the Birmingham Half Marathon and ran that in October 2017.

I spent the next two years dabbling in races, traveling the world and continuing my love of running; with the inevitable bout of injury along the way.
When I joined WOTR I was happy to plod 5k once a week and had no real running expectations in my mind. That quickly changed. Our group has a way of motivating you, and encouraging you to challenge yourself in the friendliest way possible.

As the world plummeted into lockdown I soon realised I had started running with a true group of friends.

We started 2021 together in style - a trail half marathon.

And in October 2021 I ran the London Marathon in aid of BRACE (a small dementia research charity).

A true running highlight was my 'hen run' in June 2021, before I got married in August - such a wonderful evening with wonderful running pals.
