About Jane

Picture

In 2006 I was inspired by the stories of people running the Great North Run.  I decided that I was going to run it in 2007 to mark the 25th Anniversary of my Mum’s death.  I had never run before so joined the ladies running group to help me achieve my goal – and I’m still there!  I felt instantly welcomed and supported and have never looked back.

I really enjoy the company of running with others, seeing the seasons change, discovering new routes, encouraging others and trying out new challenges.

I have done the Great North Run twice, run numerous half marathons, 10ks, 5ks, enjoy the Lakeland Trail runs and have run two Marathons, raising money for a variety of cancer charities – achieving things I never thought possible and running with people I now consider friends.

At Women on the Run no-one is judged and everyone is encouraged to achieve their potential.   I want to inspire others to achieve their goals and to have fun along the way!
