About Heather

When I was 40 I was very over weight, weighing 19 stone with my 5ft 2 frame. So I decided enough was enough! I wanted to change! I wanted to have something to live for! So I started going to to the gym, all I could do to start with was walking on the treadmill and a few weights. By 6 months I felt confident enough to run my first half marathon.

After a few years of struggling to run on my own I joined a running group too help me with my motivation. In the few years I have seen how these running groups can change people's lives, not just physically but socially too. I love to encourage and support others in their running journeys, and I have now got my run leadership qualification.
