I live in Torbay where the opportunity to run is endless, from beach to hill climb to scenic villages and parks you are spoilt for choice.
My mum first engaged my interest in a Women's Running Network group and with the club's help and support I went from running 10 minutes on average to completing 4 marathons and 29 half marathons, raising money for charity along the course and realising my ambitions.
One recent setback was the ability to find a running club on a Saturday locally now that I am going back into running. I’d travel to a branch of the WOTR in Exeter from Torbay. Now these are the most amazing bunch of ladies but I needed something local. As fate would have it I work with The Healthy Lifestyles Team and I was directed towards a running club by my Team Leader.
My aim now having completed the course is to pass on skills acquired from the course with Run in England, my Sports Exercise Foundation Degree, Health Trainer knowledge and skills acquired having been a leader of a Beginners Running Group in the past to create a new Beginners Group operating from premises in the centre of Torquay (Plainmoor area)
I am also qualified to take visually impaired or blind persons running and am very interested in anyone who has a sight condition and wants to start running. I would travel further afield for this purpose.
